Kinda wrong but on the right track… it’s just marketed as a GTI in North America, no Golf in the name. Comes with the 2.0T motor. The GTI shares a similar body with the rabbit, but really are totally different cars (not to mention Rabbits are made in Mexico, GTIs are made in Germany).
of course, the 1,8t is not bad! The engine is very good and I drive a Passat 1,8T with around 265hp as every day car. but with the audi 1,8T engine from the TT with chiptuning. But a Golf never was a sportscar and it will never be one! That´s fact. Beside of that a golf looks like a ……

headonnis, you are wrong as well. Rabbits are now made in Wolfsburg. I own a 2009 and it was made in Germany.
